Aww, thanks, Shmee! Yours do, too! Congrats to your little cutie, Charlie, on his engagement! How in the world can he be old enough to get married?

Thank you so much! By years, he's not old enough. But he's always been about 10 years older than his actually age, so... who am I to argue?! :)

You were in my neck of the woods (Pacific NW) and I love all the places you visited, Portland included. Honestly, becoming friends with my adult children has been one of my favorite parts of being their parent. And, I got matching tats with my daughters ♥

PS Joy looks great on you!

It was my first time there! The kids were birdwatching, so I just plopped down on the sand. I could have stayed there all day. Thanks for sharing my joy, friend. ❤️

So glad the impact of the hurricanes was minimal and you got to spend some quality re-set time with your kids. Happy looks good on all of you...and I love the tats!

I live in Salem Oregon; we relocated here from Mexico last year. And love being back in the US and living here. I lived in Boulder as a child. I’m glad you had such a great time. Your kids are amazing, which means you were/are a great mom. I love your grand cat and grand dog. They’re fortunate (my parents were awful). I hope you can move away from the fascist state of Florida sometime soon. Thanks for sharing your trip with us.

Boulder and Salem? Sounds pretty dreamy to me! I'm sorry your parents were awful, but I'm happy you're loving being back in the U.S. and hope you've found some peace. This trip just reiterated my need to get out of Florida ASAP, so I'm working on that. :)

You are so bad ass awesome. I love you and I want to support you when I’m not on my phone. I’m gonna come back and demonstrate that I don’t know a writer who deserves it more than you and your dogs and the beautiful life that you contend with it is you that makes it beautiful and I appreciate that I am deeply inspired and in awe!

Such a happy time shared and your smiles speak volumes! Even your grand pup! I am delighted to know that you have had this time to fill you up and to bask in one another's glow. That is what this post felt like to me. I needed to put on more sunscreen and wear my shades, there was such an abundance of sunlight! 😎 Safe and happy travels dear Katrina.

Aww, Joanie, I love your sunscreen and shades comment. I felt like this post wasn't necessarily well written, but I couldn't wait to share my experiences and my photos. Thank you for recognizing the sunshine in all of it. XOXO

Oh, lol! We are our own worst critics. This read as beautifully and with such joy and ease. I loved it! Give that inner critic a sucker and sit her in her car seat in the back of the car! 🤣🍭🚗
