We're okay, friends. Thank you all for your messages and concern. Our area went pretty much unscathed, but some surrounding areas weren't so lucky. The devastation on the coast, in NC, and in TN was so much worse. Keeping all those people in my thoughts and looking for ways to help from afar. XO
I have been wondering about my Florida peeps and very grateful to know of where you all are, Katrina. Mother Nature surely has a lot to say these days. I must admit Ruby's way of navigating, I'll be remembering, " freshly groomed and drugged and snoozing." I think she's onto something! Gentle and loving care. 💙
Went through the Sanibel Hurricane a couple years ago and it was devastating. Saw a lot of beautiful parts of humanity and then also the worst too. It's interesting how natural disasters bring that out. Sending you a peaceful sleep with the doggies <3
Thanks, Lindsey. We were lucky, but so many others were not. I'm ready to be done with hurricanes. But who knew Asheville would get so much damage? (Well, the meteorologists, of course.) So devastating, though.
Kim, I'm happy you got to visit North and South Carolina while you were visiting. They are, indeed, such beautiful places. North Carolina has been hit so hard--it's devastating. So many people still missing and/or unaccounted for. XO
All good here... just lots of detritus. But St. Pete (which is where we care for my stepfather) got hit pretty hard. Gulfport, too. And I can't even believe what's happening in North Carolina and Tennessee. So devastating. :(

Please let us know you're okay Katrina.
All good here, Deb. We were lucky. So many others weren't. :(
Glad to hear Katrina because it appeared to hit some really hard.
Please post something tomorrow so we know you are ok. It looks like a big one!
All good with us, Julia. Not so much for others, though. :(
May you be safe!!
Thank you, Emily. We're good. Thinking about so many others who aren't. :(

Thank you, Joanie. I think Ruby is on to something, too! :)

Thanks, Kim. It was better for us than expected, but so much worse for so many others. :(
I love Cape San Blas, too! Have you heard any damage reports yet?

It sure is! We stayed in Boone a few years ago. My youngest was a summer student at Brevard in violin. We loved our time there. <3
