This is gorgeous and honest and real. Thank you for revealing yourself to us. I’m amazed that you worked in an environment where John was transitioning to Jane and didn’t lose her job. 31 years ago. That’s pretty incredible. xo
Beautifully written, simply amazing that hard road with trodden that many years ago. True we can only do what we know and you are doing wonderful things right now. Thank you. 🌹
Thank you for sharing this, and thank you for your courage and your voice now.
For many of us who discovered who we are later in life, I'm sure there are almost always moments to which we mentally return time and again, wishing we could have known better, could have done better.
But to be brave and compassionate and thoughtful in the present is all we are given, and I suppose that must be enough.
Sending my best wishes for a better world - for you, for me, and for Jane. 💛
Thank you for your honesty. We can’t do what we don’t know. But now that you know, you can write things like this that will open people’s hearts. You needed to be there to get here.
When I look back at my younger self, I just Shudder and cringe at my insecure cruelty. Just reaching out would’ve been the kind thing. And I didn’t have it in me. But we learn, don’t we thank God.
YES! 🙌🏼 To every word, thought, and big feeling. Such an honest reckoning of where you were, and are today. If we could all remember to do this as a daily spiritual practice, can you imagine our world? I wonder what life looks and feels like for Jane today? Loving care to your huge heart, Katrina, and those you touch. 💜✨

Nan, that's where I thought the story was going too! Amazing.
Thank you!! We all have to do better!
Here's to Jane 🏳️🌈

I would love to know Jane now, too. <3
