F**King WOW Katrina, This is your best yet—piercing in every sense of the word.
You carry the ache and the celebration in the same breath, and that’s no small feat. The way you wove from “How Many Licks?” to Gaza, from sweaty trivia night to the preacher on the street—this is what it means to hold the contradictions, to not look away, to keep loving in the face of all that would try to harden us.
“Sweaty, Petty, and Ready” is iconic. But it’s the line about never living to see a nation of acceptance while Bibles are still weaponized that hit me like a psalm for our times. And the grotesque humor of that team name winning? A reminder that this country still applauds cruelty when it’s cleverly disguised.
You remind me why we write. Why we keep walking out into the street in joy— no matter what. Why we risk everything to live true.
I’m with you. Always. Thank you for reading mine today. It means a ton. I did a Pride piece also, as this is the life we love.
I love to hear your thoughts on my posts, Prajna. You illuminate things that I sometimes don’t even consider, and you affirm things that matter so very much. I’m grateful to have you here. 💙
All the deep feels within this. I am SO grateful for how authentically you are showing up, and living your life fully. Only LOVE allowed here is what comes up for me each and every time. Just as Willie Nelson said about his only family rule, “Don’t be an asshole!” It should be so simple, yet such a far reach in this moment of time. We’ll keep How are you healing post surgery? Tight hugs and love. 💜🪶
All the love to you, Joanie. I'm feeling good post-surgery. In PT and learning how to use my right hand again. "Don't be an asshole" should be everyone's motto, shouldn't it? Willie knows. XO
Thank you Katrina for being with us in the whole spectrum of what it means to be a gay American right now. I'm right there with you.
Standing in solidarity with you, Anitra. XO
thank you Katrina… So much appreciated
Incredible write up 🙌🏼
Thank you for being here 💟
I always love your words.
Thank you so much, Jess. Thank you for being here, too. XO
Beautiful/painful. Bombs are not funny. WTF. Love you, friend.
Bombs are never funny. It was a surreal moment. Love you, too, friend. XO

Aww Katrina, I am glad.
Your words are an ember I carry—
What you don’t name, I sometimes hear humming.
This is the beauty of kinship:
We light each other’s unseen corners.
Especially when it's dark. X0
